The Mary and Martha Circle

The Circle meets the second Tuesday of each month from September through June.

An Open Invitation from the Mary and Martha Circle:

The Mary and Martha Circle meets monthly and all women of the church are invited to join us. The business portion of our meeting begins at 1:00 PM. Anyone who would like to come earlier for an extended time of fellowship is invited to bring their lunch and meet in Gurney Hall at 12:30 PM. Coffee and dessert will be provided and planning for the upcoming year begun. New members are always welcome. Please consider joining the Circle or simply attending as many of our meetings and special events as you are able. All will be publicized in upcoming Wesleyans and Sunday bulletins.

Teddy Bear Ministry: Give a Bear Hug

Contributions from the congregation and others enable us to purchase and display bears in our sanctuary and offer them, free of charge, to those in need of prayer for physical and/or emotional healing and wellness. Each bear includes a tag stating, "This bear has been among the congregation of the Setauket United Methodist Church. It has heard the prayers offered, songs of praise sung, and sermons preached. It now comes to you with the blessings of worship and love."

Ongoing Community Outreach:: The Mary and Martha Circle is collecting food and other household items (toilet paper, paper towels, personal toiletries, and laundry supplies) the first Sunday of every month for distribution through the food pantries of the Three Village Schools. It is our hope that with the widespread participation of our church family we will be able to make a real difference in the lives of neighbors in need.

Other Ministries: Other ministries of the circle include the Prayer Shawl Ministry, Assembling Church World Service Kits, sending "Care Packages" to our college students at exam time, and our Neighbor-to-Neighbor Fund which helps those in our community who are in need.
