Wednesday Evening Bible Study: The Book of Genesis

This is a Bible study in a series of short-term, in-depth, small-group Bible studies on the design of Disciple Bible Study. Genesis is, in particular, one of the most fascinating Books in the entire Bible, which tells us the origin of the world, of human beings, of sin, and the initiation of God’s salvation.

The participants are expected to do their daily Scripture reading (a chapter or two per day) and take a brief note of the insights taken from the reading daily in the text book. During our sessions on Wednesdays at 7:00 PM, we shall share our findings taken from the daily readings and go over the insightful weekly portion of the text book.

Textbook: Invitation to Genesis by Peter Enns ($15.99 per copy)
Gathering: Wednesdays from 7:00 PM – 8:30 PM in the Parlor
Schedule: Total of 10 sessions
Sept. 14, 21, 28, Oct. 5, 12, 19, 26, Nov. 2, 9, 16

Monthly Prayer Gathering

Starting in September, we will gather together in the sanctuary once a month on the last Thursday of the month to pray together for ourselves, our family, our church, our community, and our country. The first meeting will be on Thursday, September 29th, at 7:00 PM.

Each gathering consists of:
Reading a page-long article on prayer (5 minutes)
Scriptural reading and devotional on prayer (5-7 minutes)
Prayers (total 20-25 minutes):

  • Sharing joys and concerns
  • Healing prayers: for ourselves, families and friends
  • Intercessory prayers: Prayers for the church, community, country
  • Individual prayers

And many more activities throughout the year.
